Notable Syrian Activsts Surrender to the Regime in a "Deal"

This post was directly put out via Qusai Zakarya's managers at his Facebook page, blog, etc. The notable activist has turned himself in to the Assad regime, a selfless act in an attempt to save the lives of the starving people of Moadamiya. His life is now directly in danger, as he is utterly at the regime's mercy. Please share this post widely in an attempt to spread the word! If there is enough awareness, the Assad regime may think twice before harming him as they have harmed millions of other activists and innocents:
"QUSAI ACCEPTS DEAL TO LEAVE MOADAMIYA
Yesterday, Qusai Zakarya and several other opposition leaders and activists from Moadamiya accepted the regime’s offer of a face to face meeting as part of a deal for them to be allowed to leave the besieged area. Moadamiya’s fifteen month siege has not allowed people in or out and not allowed the entry of food.
The local council has been eager to finalize a truce so that larger food supplies would be allowed in – some supplies had entered after the local council first signed a truce with the regime on December 26.
Qusai and other opposition leaders had initially opposed the truce and continued to call for breaking the siege. The regime then demanded that certain activists in Moadamiya leave as a condition of the truce. Due to increasing pressure from residents who want the food shipments, Qusai, along with other activists, yesterday agreed to leave Moadamiya for a meeting with government officials. Their safety was guaranteed by the regime as part of the deal.
Qusai ‘s group was taken to a hotel in central Damascus. They are waiting for a meeting tonight – presumably with officials from the Ministry of Reconciliation and the Fourth Armored Division Headquarters.
A member of Qusai’s Facebook team has spoken with him and is hopeful that negotiations will be productive and permit him safe passage out of Syria."
Thank you for your help. May Gog bless and protect you Qusai, and may God protect Syria!

Show your support, end the siege!

Children, elderly people, and anyone who cannot obtain food, are dying of starvation and the Assad regime's brutal bombardment in Moadamiyet al Sham (a.k.a. Moadamiyeh). Not only that, but the regime has tormented and tortured the people using the disgusting tactic of claiming that they will allow food aid into the besieged neighbourhood if they fly the regime flag, only to give them token amounts. This is one of many such disgraceful atrocities: http://stopthesiege.wordpress.com/2014/01/03/a-few-brave-hearts/
Please show your support and solidarity with the starving people, and brave hunger-striker Qusai Zakarya, here, while there is still time.

Statement regarding the recent challenges faced by Turkish PM Erdogan, firm supporter of the Syrian Revolution

Radio Free Syria stands by Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan, especially given the suspicious, desertion of him by foreign 'allies' & 'friends', just as his government suddenly seems to be coming into something of a crisis, given the latest corruption scandal. Just as this has started to brew, said 'allies' and friends have suddenly begun to abandon his government at a time when true friends would surely show solidarity. Especially given the fact that Erdogan's government is not only democratic, but popular and progressive.

It seems abundantly clear that such desertion is a punishment for Erdogan's refusal to moderate his stance on Assad and his genocide within Syria (it must be remembered that Erdogan's government has been with the Syrian revolution from the start, providing assistance to refugees, as well as condemning Assad's brutality, as well as allowing foreign fighters to cross into Syria).

Radio Free Syria urges Erdogan to get his millions of supporters onto the streets, as we fear that the Turkish government may find a Tamarod-style uprising unleashed upon them, brought on by foreign agitators (e.g. the US and allies) as a punishment for not moderating their stance.

Although this may seem conspiratorial to some, what happened to Egyptian president Mohammed Morsi, DIRECTLY after he announced his full support for the Syrian revolution, must be remembered. He was vilified as friends with "hardline Islamists" and deposed, by a movement (the Tamarod movement, which is coincidentally pro-Assad) led by those connected to the military and the US, as well as members of the former regime (clearly concerned that they would lose their billions in military aid if they facilitated the removal of Israel's closest protector and friend (and therefore one of the US' closest friends), Assad (who guarantees their border security and illegal hold over the Golan, which his father sold to them), while hypocritically posturing as an avowed anti-Zionist).

We therefore urge all to stay vigilant, especially Erdogan and his government, who we have full confidence in, especially given his friendship towards the Syrian people.

Radio Free Syria: Intimidation and Harassment against our Station

Recently, our social media accounts have come under repeated attack (resulting in several of us being banned from posting on Facebook for some 24 hours, allegedly for publishing evidence of Assad's genocide onto our Facebook page), one of our activists has received what can arguably be called harassment by individuals who seem to be from Britain's security services (his family were troubled by them during his time in Syria, where he worked on a popular documentary there), and threats by Assad supporters have been received in the past, many of them directly sent to our (aforementioned) former correspondent in Syria.

We urge our followers to be vigilant, and to keep a look out for a new Radio Free Syria page, in the event that this one suddenly disappears.

If such harassment of our activists continues, the activist in question is threatening to publish the mobile phone number of one of the individuals in question (the other number was withheld by the caller) who sent him calls and messages, as well as contact the police. He has rejected any meetings with them, and urged respect for his privacy. Thanks for your attention.

A great victory for the Syrian Revolution in Ghouta

Today, there was a glorious victory, al-Hamdulillah. The revolutionaries' elite units have come close to breaking the siege of Ghouta (in Damascus), saving the starving people there! Thousands were previously starving to death as a result of the crippling siege there (in addition, the chemical massacre in August was in Ghouta). 8000 elite fighters led the way, launching a counterattack from the east and west, according to the discourse circulating on Twitter. They laid waste to huge numbers of Assad's scum. TAKBIR!

The true soldiers of Syria can be seen here in this video, staging a victory parade.

The discourse and information about the successful campaign can be found here, on Twitter.

Ben Allinson-Davies is a worker for Radio Free Syria, blogger, and film-maker, who spent over a week in Syria with the people there, including rebel forces. His documentary on the revolution can be found here.

A message to Western media outlets...

A message to Western media from heroic media activist and Radio Free Syria manager Qusai Zakarya in Moadamiya, #Damascusprovince concerning the evacuation of some civilians from the town yesterday. As has become the norm, media, including the BBC and the Huffington Post, reported only the Assad regime's monstrously distorted version of events, without bothering to consult its victims, whose voices are silenced by both the regime and Western media, both mainstream and 'alternative' (sic).

"Moadamiya, #Damascus province, 30-10-2013: I would like to update you about the situation in Moadamiya. Over 100 men were detained yesterday during the evacuation. Today news has come out that these men are being forces into serving in the Syrian army and to join Assad's thugs, commonly called shabeeha. Certainly, these men would prefer death over such a fate. It's also important to remember that during the first evacuation a few weeks ago, Assad forces detained several children and some still remain in custody, their fates unknown to their families. Although many journalists have written about the Moadamiya story, no one has focused on the fate of the evacuated civilians and the danger they are in right now."

Introduction by Radio Free Syria's Ruth, message via Qusai Zakarya in Moadamiya, Damascus province.
